Holds mägs well, very nice
SOURCED & MADE IN THE USA.
The RECCE Rig was specifically designed for light reconnaissance work and mountain fighting. From the harness to the height of the rig, everything was designed to be worn when using heavy packs/rucks in adverse terrain while carrying a full combat load of magazines. This was designed to be worn on its own or over a slick plate carrier.
I designed this rig after spending multiple years wearing chest rigs and heavy packs trudging up and down mountains in every environment imaginable. In many ways this rig takes heavy influence off of the venerable bush war rigs. There are several important notes about this rig, so let’s get into it.
UNIVERSAL MAGAZINE FIT: The RECCE Rig features four magazine pouches that can hold 1 to 2 STANAG/AR15 magazines per pouch, for a total of 8 magazines. It will fit most intermediate magazines including AK (7.62×39 and 5.45×39) but will only hold 1 instead of 2 per pouch. The pouches themselves use elastic on the sides to keep a snug fit on the magazines regardless of how many are in there. The magazine pouches have built in waterproof flaps to keep your magazines safe from the elements.
MAP POUCH: The often forgotten but very important map pouch sits behind the magazines pouches and can fit thin documents/maps or other mission essential items.
EXPANSION CAPABILITIES: On either side of the magazine pouches you have two open rows of MOLLE. This allows you to add whatever you may need such as radio pouches, grenade pouches, additional magazine pouches or admin pouches. You can also keep this area slick for a small overall rig depending on the size of your torso. Don’t forget you can add more storage with our Small Integrated Misc Pouch (SIMP) which sits under the RECCE rig and allows for many more items to be added.
DESIGNED FOR MOUNTAIN WORK: The RECCE Rig features an H-Harness which I find to be the most comfortable when worn over multiple months of being in the field. The angle of the strap from the RECCE Rig to the H-Harness was chosen precisely to hold the chest rig high on your body and to not interfere with Large Framed Packs/Rucks.
WIRE MANAGEMENT: The chest straps have multiple areas to store and route wires from whatever radio system/end user device you may be using. Push-To-Talk’s, compasses, GPS and other items can be easily mounted to the webbing of the chest straps as well.
UNIVERSAL FIT: The chest rig buckles can be moved up or down to situate the chest rig higher on the chest depending on your height / build. The rig features fully adjustable straps to ensure you get the best fit on your body.
SIMPLE BUT EFFECTIVE: The RECCE Rig was designed with what I wanted out of a chest rig. It’s lightweight, doesn’t sit far off of your body, is held high on the chest and integrates perfectly with packs. You can carry a full combat load out easily and can expand it as your mission dictates.
Holds mägs well, very nice
Outstanding! Exactly what I need. After researching chest rigs and having heavy bulky rigs over the years this is perfect for light duty use. Extremely well made. Very lightwieght, super comfortable and easy to throw on, even over a bulky winter jacket. Also i love these mag pouches that sit higher up on the chest so not to interfer with all my gear on my belt. Perfect for range training, day hikes, or worn over a smooth plate carrier. Holds four 30 round rifle mags compfortably with the velcro flaps fully closed. Some guys say they even squeeze eight mags in. Cant think of any complaints other than it would have been nice to have a little extra real estate on the side molly rows, but it easily fits a radio, cat, knife sheath or other narrow sized pouches. Ordered it with their simp dangler pouch, which fits perfectly using the velcro pad inside the map flap. 5 stars!
I’ve been using the RECCE Rig for training for about 8 months now and it’s been solid. The best part is the magazine retention—Velcro flaps keep all eight mags secure and easy to access. It’s lightweight and comfortable. Only gripe I have with it is the side molle panels are a bit small, only fitting one pouch per side. Thinking about adding another 2 or 3 rows on to mine on either side. Overall, it’s a great rig if you want something simple, secure, and effective—just keep in mind the limited molle space.
It is exacly what I wanted. However the buckels are mounted a bit too low and when it has a full load of mags the buckles put pressure on your chest that can be a bit painful. It is very well constructs and otherwise comfotable.
As the title says simple, yet well built, just like me! I’m a small guy but strong with large chest. That’s what she said. It fits my SCAR mags and fits well on me. I plan once I work more overtime to get the SIMP pouch and other accessories. Next plan after that is to pose with it as chicks walk by.
Still 5 stars despite the “near perfect” title… My only complaint, the vertical buckles are fairly low, so on a full loadout, the magazines apply pressure on the buckles and create pressure points on the chest. That said… You need to know what your application is, because if you get this for the wrong “mission” type, you could be let down, but at no fault of the rig. For my application, which is foot payroll and intel gathering/scout, this has been the most comfortable rig to date. Ignore the people complaining about 2 columns of molle, it’s by design and actually helps keep this rig reasonably scaled instead of turning it into a chest bore LBE. Buy it, find where it fits in your applications, and be happy.
Great rig and super comfortable. Only wish is that it had three rows of MOLLE on the sides instead of two. Can’t wait to see the next evolution!
Yall need to add splitertarn and splintertarn black options for the chest rig... if buy both. This rig is my favorite mountain rig.. but i need those patterns to feel complete
Issues: When I opened my Reccie rig on Christmas Day that my wife got me, I noticed the buckles on the H Harness are both facing the wrong way meaning the trail end that you roll up once sized to your body is facing my back. This is a problem because now the strap sits right in my back and there’s no way to take it off without damaging the straps permanently. Additionally the magazine flaps could be a bit longer, when 2 mags are stowed in each pouch the flap has not alot of Velcro on Velcro contact making it pretty easy to pull up the flap. It pulled up on the living room floor. So loosing mag when having 2 stored is now a concern. Having only 2 rows of molle instead of at least 3 highly limits your ability to use most pouches on the market. In my instance it’s impossible to run a USGI Canteen or a IFAK pouch of any type. Other then those gripes it’s a great rig, has less issues then any other rig on the market. Just some things I would change!
This is my favorite chest rig due to its common sense design. Great adjustability and fitment. Onward research really did their homework when designing this equipment. Highly recommend it.
